What dot.bi stores about you

• No account, no cookies of our own. Public pages set no cookies. Your theme preference (light or dark) is kept in your browser only, by your browser.
• Server logs. Our web server records the IP address, requested URL, user agent and time of each request for security and capacity planning. Logs are kept for 30 days.
• Rate limiting. dot.bi counts new-domain lookups per IP address for one minute to protect third-party services. The counter is not stored beyond that.
• Lookups are not linked to you. When you open a domain profile, the domain is added to dot.bi's dataset; who looked it up is not recorded.

Audience measurement

dot.bi uses Google Analytics to count visits and understand which pages are useful. Google sets cookies for this purpose and processes the data in accordance with its policies. You can block it with a content blocker or Google's opt-out add-on.

Advertising

dot.bi may display advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or device identifiers to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and at aboutads.info. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent before any advertising cookie is set. What dot.bi stores about domains

dot.bi stores observations about domain names: DNS records, registration metadata from RDAP, hosting network, home-page title and technologies, email authentication records, archive dates and dictionary matches. Registrant contact fields contained in RDAP responses are stored only inside the cached raw response for up to 7 days and are never displayed, searched or indexed. Site operators can opt out of home-page probing.
